Mr. Chairman, Dear Friends,

We are greatly honoured to be part of the First ever PIO Parliamentarians Conference, a very unique opportunity that will open new doors the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered us all. We thank him for this great initiative.

We bring to the Prime Minister and the people of India very warm greetings from His Excellency the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Job Ndugai and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Mr. Chairman,

Tanzania and India enjoy solid relationship historically, traditionally, socially, culturally, politically and economically.

In this context, we thank Prime Minister Sri Modi for this great initiative which will further strengthen the solid foundations of this relationship between our two countries and, more importantly the now wider family represented in this forum.

We also thank the Government of India for the continued support to the many developmental programs and projects as well as for the technical support in Tanzania through grants and the Lines of Credits (LoCs) and we hope that the same can be sustained for many years ahead.

India remains the largest trading to Tanzania and we hope that this relationship grows together with all the countries represented here at this forum. In other words, India is our motherland, and so brothers and sisters let us integrate with each other and grow together.

Mr Chairman, Brothers and Sisters,

My delegation is open to ideas and also ready to carry forward the Prime Ministerís message and I can assure you of its full implementation.

THANK YOU
